Art direction and considerations for photography selection and editing.

Art Direction

We apply a branded treatment to our photography. Photo color correction reflects our warm color palette, but preserves the photo’s full color range. We should never veer into monochromatic or sepia-toned applications. All photography also receives a film grain treatment.

For hero applications, photos should  use our Glow in one corner to increase brand affiliation.
Use the glow sparingly for hero photos.
The Glow enhances hero photography by infusing our design language, color, and light, confined to a single corner, occupying a maximum of 30% of the canvas vertically/horizontally. Its placement and gradient portion are discretionary, aiming to accentuate the photo's natural features and composition.
Photos are chosen/edited for warmth
Our photography mirrors our warm color palette, avoiding sepia or monochrome tones. Despite limited palettes, we maintain the full range and sometimes enhance it for dramatic effect.
We show real people/situations
We capture the world's dynamic essence in our photography, maintaining the full color range even with limited palettes. Technology is seamlessly integrated into our photographic environments.
Introduce drama where appropriate
Our brand's cinematic photography emphasizes drama or intrigue, with intentional grain adding a filmic touch to scenes and framing choices.

Photo Treatment

01
Modify the photography to align with our Art Direction using photo editing software.
02
Introduce a gradient shape to create our glow effect (light leak) and apply a Layer Blur effect to it. Ensure accurate placement by aligning it with the imagery's lighting.
03
Apply Noise/Grain to the photography using photo editing software or overlay a layer with Blending Modes to achieve the desired effect.
04
Finalize the photo treatment by adjusting brightness, contrast, and saturation for the desired visual impact.
